1915-1919
Eric Sydney Walpole Sealy-Vidal was born on the 1 June 1894 in Liverpool, New South Wales, and served as an officer in both the First and Second World Wars. He enlisted in the AIF on 12 August 1915 as a Lieutenant with the 1st Infantry Battalion, 10th Reinforcements. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A69 Warilda on 8 October 1915. He served with the 5th Pioneer Battalion in Egypt and France, and was promoted to Captain on 6 July 1916. In 1917 he was mentioned in despatches, and in 1918 was awarded the Military Cross.
Eric Sealy-Vidal died at Mosman, New South Wales on the 20 August 1966 at the age of 72.
